Cordillera Peoples Alliance - Mountain Province response to the comments of Youth Leaders Summit-Mountain Province Chapter on the dropping of government propaganda leaflets by AFP choppers on Easter Sunday

April 17, 2020

We criticize the negative implementation of some government programs and at the same time appreciate the positive ones. In doing so, our goal is for the government to be guided in implementing such projects. These programs should serve the interests of the people, especially the poor. We know that you are aware of this but you are acting blind.

The extension of the lockdown until April 30 is sadly affecting us marginalized sectors unlike you who have everything you need because the government provides you with resources that come from our taxes.

We are saddened by the fact that despite bearing the impacts of lockdown as poor and marginalized peoples, we are also being militarized in social media. This is how the Duterte regime and you are aggravating our situation. Let it be known to each and everyone that you are most industrious in your attempts to bully and red-tag our organization and members.

This must change: Yung tiyaga ninyong magpadala ng text messages at mag-post at mag-comment sa Facebook ay hindi dapat para kutyain ang kapwa ninyong tao regardless of their political beliefs. We know that you are being paid to do it pero nasaan ang inyong konsensya?

Stop red-tagging us!
Stop bullying!
Stop scattering misinformation!
Appeal for the immediate release of SAP!
